1. Prophet Adam (AS)

Adam (AS) was the 1st man created and the father of all mankind . Before Adam’s (AS) creation there existed angels and Jinns (Genie). The angels were created from light while the Jinns (Genie) were created from fire. The angels had no will of there own and but the Jinns had. Amongst the Jinns “Iblis” was the most high ranked. Once Allah decided to create Adam (AS) and informed the angels of his intention they (the angels) remarked .

“And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Verily, I am going to place (mankind) generations after generations on earth." They (angels) said: 'Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, - while we glorify You with praises and thanks (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners) and sanctify You." He (Allah) said: "I know that which you do not know." Quran 2:30

When Allah breathed the spirit in Adam, he said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves before Adam." And they prostrated except Iblis, he refused and was proud and was one of the disbelievers (disobedient to Allah)." Quran 2: 31-34

Allah created Adam on Friday, making him 60 cubits tall. When He created him, He said to him, "Go and greet that group of angels, and listen to their reply, for it will be your greeting (salutation) and the greeting (salutations of your offspring." So, Adam said (to the angels), As-Salamu Alaikum (i.e. Peace be upon you). The angels said, "As-salamu Alaika wa Rahmatu-l-lahi" (i.e. Peace and Allah's Mercy be upon you). Thus the angels added to Adam's salutation the expression, 'Wa Rahmatu-l-lahi,' Any person who will enter Paradise will resemble Adam (in appearance and figure). People have been decreasing in stature since Adam's creation. (bukhari Volumn 004, Book 055, Hadith Number 543.)

Adam's Spouse was created from the rib of Adam. Women is created from a rib – a crooked part of the human body. If you try to straighten her it may break (divorce). One should try to benefit from her with her crookedness. ( Shahi Muslim 3466)

Both of them were allowed free access to all but one tree of paradise. Then Satan (Iblis - the genie) whispered suggestions to them both in order to uncover that which was hidden from them of their private parts (before); he said: "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree save you should become angels or become of the immortals." And he (Satan) swore by Allah to them both (saying): "Verily, I am one of the sincere well-wishers for you both."

So he misled them with deception. Then when they tasted of the tree, that which was hidden from them of their shame (private parts) became manifest to them and they began to stick together the leaves of Paradise over themselves (in order to cover their shame). And their Lord called out to them (saying): "Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you: Verily, Satan is an open enemy unto you?"

They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers." Allah said: "Get down, one of you an enemy to the other (i.e. Adam, Eve, and Satan, etc.). On earth will be a dwelling-place for you and an enjoyment, - for a time." He said: "Therein you shall live, and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out (i.e., resurrected). Quran 7: 19-25

Islamic traditions believe that both got down in Mecca (Saudi Arabia). Adam on Mount Safa and Hawwa(Eve) of Mount Marwa. Other traditions suggest that Adam got down somewhere in Sri Lanka. Adam’s peak on Sri Lanka is said to contain his giant footprint.

The Quran describes two sons of Adam , Habil & Qabil. It describes the rift between them over chosing their life partners. Despite several reminders to do away with the pride Qabil was building-up, nothing seemed to improve. However both were asked to offer sacrifice to Allah, but Qabil’s sacrifice was not accepted by Allah. Finally the hatred grew and it so happened that Qabil struck Habil with a stone which killed him instantly. This was the 1st murder in the human history. After this Allah sent a crow who scratched the ground in order to show Qabil what to do with the dead body. He (Qabil) exclaimed "Woe to me! Am I not even able to be as this crow and to hide the dead body of my brother?" Then he became one of those who regretted. Quran 5:27-31
